Our senior school swimming sports was held on Tuesday of week 3. All the children lined up on the courts and in classes we hopped on the buses. Everyone was excited. Our teachers had already spoken to us about what races we wanted to be in. Some people had numbers on their hands for the fun races.
When we arrived we all sat in our house groups. Everyone sung their house chants. Totara, the best house (we are in Totara), were the loudest.
First of all Ms D called for the year 6 boys and girls for freestyle. For each race we lined up then got sent to Mrs McPherson who sorted us into lines of 7. Next the year 5 boys and girls, then backstroke, then breast stroke.
We had butterlies in our stomachs when it was time to go to the starting blocks, before we knew it- bang the clappers were sounded and the swimmers were off.
The fun races had people sitting in tyres and balancing balls on kick boards it was all great fun.
Totara won the senior school swimming so it was the best day ever for us!
